Harvard Professor, Inventor of ESG Stomach Tightening, Everself Co-founder

Dr. Christopher C. Thompson, MD, MSc, is Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and, at Brigham and Women's Hospital, serves as Director of Endoscopy and Co-director of the Center for Weight Management and Wellness. Widely regarded as the father of bariatric endoscopy, he invented Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) Stomach Tightening, performing the world's first cases with the current technology in 2012; the procedure was approved by the FDA in 2021 and is now performed worldwide. He has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed publications (H-index 83) and is a co-founder of Everself.
