Dr. Christopher C. Thompson

Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Director of Endoscopy and Co-director of the Center for Weight Management and Wellness at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

He performed the world's first endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty cases with the current technology in 2012, and he has since carried out more than 6,000 endoscopic procedures. He has published more than 300 peer-reviewed papersC-BIO-01, and he co-founded Everself, where the procedure is offered.

His research concerns the gut as a metabolic organ: how it senses what arrives, how it signals to the brain, and how those signals can be changed from the inside without surgery. Most of the therapies he works on did not exist when he began.
