I’m Michelle Zornick. I am from Miami, Florida. Currently I live in Tampa, and I’m a nurse.
I had the procedure four months ago and I’m down 62 pounds. I was pretty desperate at finding a solution that was going to be more permanent because I had struggled with my weight for so long, since I was in my early twenties after having my first child. Especially when you get to 350 pounds, it seems almost unobtainable.
Initially, I had gastric bypass in 2002. I did try other means like Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, all those different fad diets, keto. Everything seemed to work, but I wasn’t able to ever get close to my goal weight. It wasn’t the weight that I needed to be, to be healthy and to continue to be able to be active. And I was able to find Everself. I saw the procedure that was being done by Dr. Thompson. I was very impressed with his skillset, his experience, and his professional accolades being Harvard.
There’s just so much support. You never are alone. For the longest time, I thought that my weight gain had just been overeating and my poor diet. I realized after having a consultation that I was diagnosed with a metabolic disorder and PCOS.
I love the fact that I have a nutritionist and the nutritionist continues to keep up with your progress. It’s been amazing to be able to participate in the activities that my grandchildren want me to participate in, especially when it comes to playing outside, jumping on the trampoline, just keeping up with them, especially my 4-year-old grandson. He’s so energetic and fast, and now I’m able to walk and not be out of breath. I’m able to do all the things that I’ve always wanted to do that I wasn’t able to enjoy at my heaviest with my children. I get to experience all those experiences now with my grandchildren.
When I look in the mirror, I see a more positive, overall happy person. Just somebody that when I look in the mirror I’m glad to see the reflection that’s staring back at me. I haven’t been able to see that in a long time. It feels good.
