A single conversation. A single procedure. A year of care.

2

The 60-minute procedure

Through your mouth, your doctor places 7–10 sutures, reducing the stomach size by ~75%. Home the same day. No incisions, no scars.

3

12 months of concierge care

The Everself Program — dietitian, 24/7 nurse practitioner on call, group support, and a peer community for the full year.

How do I get an endoscopic weight loss procedure in Washington DC?

To get an endoscopic weight loss procedure in Washington DC, please schedule a virtual consultation with one of our nurse practitioners or physician assistants to determine your eligibility. We don't accept walk-ins.

Learn more about the entire patient journey.

How do I qualify for an endoscopic weight loss procedure?

To be eligible for one of our endoscopic weight loss procedures (such as endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty, gastric balloon, or revision of prior bariatric surgery), you must have a BMI over 30, or a BMI between 27 and 29.9 with conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, or fatty liver disease.

For an endoscopic revision of prior bariatric surgery, you must have had a gastric bypass or gastric sleeve surgery.

How is Everself's endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) different from ESG at other providers?

Our team invented endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) at Harvard Medical School and authored both the official ESG protocol and the field's best-practice technique standard — so when you choose Everself, you're choosing the source.

Technique matters: ESG outcomes vary substantially with suture count, the stitch pattern, and whether each bite captures full-thickness tissue. Traditional ESG uses 3 to 5 sutures; the Everself protocol uses 7 to 10 — up to double the structural anchoring — and each stitch grabs full-thickness gastric wall, which is what makes the reduction durable years out.

The procedure is also only half of the program. We co-authored a 12-month longitudinal-care protocol that goes far beyond passive check-ins: every patient is supported by a dedicated care coordinator, a registered dietitian, group support cohorts, and a 24/7 nurse practitioner on call.

This combination of inventor-grade technique plus a true 12-month program is what sets Everself apart from any other ESG provider.

How long does endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) take?
The procedure itself takes approximately 60 minutes. However, you should plan on spending about half a day with us including preparation and recovery.
What is recovery like after endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG)?
Patients go home on the same day. Most take a few days off to recover at home before returning to work. After the procedure, patients follow a full liquid meal plan, which includes protein shakes and similar products, then transition to a soft diet, which includes easy-to-eat foods such as oatmeal and bananas, and then return to regular eating.
Is endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) reversible?
Your doctor can use one of three available suturing or plication devices to perform ESG/EGP. ESG can be reversible, while EGP is typically not. If this is important to you, you should discuss this with your provider prior to the procedure.
How does ESG compare to sleeve gastrectomy?

Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) is a less invasive, non-surgical weight loss option with a quicker recovery, no scarring, and fewer complications, typically requiring 1 to 3 days off work. In contrast, sleeve gastrectomy is a surgical procedure with more significant weight loss but involves a longer recovery, hospital stay of 1 to 3 days, and 2 to 4 weeks off work.

Consult with our clinical team or your healthcare provider to determine the best option for you.

How much does endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty cost?
An endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) procedure costs $12,995, which includes 12 virtual visits with your Everself healthcare team. Financing options are available. Learn more about our pricing and financing options.
Are endoscopic weight loss procedures covered by insurance?
Unfortunately, insurance does not cover endoscopic weight loss procedures yet. However, we offer several financing options. Learn more about our pricing and financing options.
