We began our journey at Harvard Medical School in 2012 with a simple conviction: weight loss shouldn't have to be a lifelong struggle. We set out to prove it didn't have to be.

The first ESG procedure
Invented ESG at Harvard. Dr. Christopher Thompson pioneered the first ESG procedure at Harvard Medical School.
FDA Authorization

Founded Bariendo (now Everself)

Official ESG Guidelines
Led by Dr. Jirapinyo, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy published guidelines on ESG, following a meta-analysis finding 18.2% weight loss across thousands of patients
CMS Recognition of ESG
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recognized endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) by assigning it a dedicated CPT code.
