Dr. Daniel Szvarca is a gastroenterologist and advanced endoscopist with specialized expertise in endoscopic weight loss therapies and minimally invasive bariatric interventions. He earned his Medical Degree (M.D.) from the George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences and went on to complete his Internal Medicine Residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He subsequently completed his fellowship in gastroenterology, endoscopy, and bariatrics at Harvard Medical School (Brigham and Women’s Hospital), followed by advanced endoscopy training through a combined Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital program. Dr. Szvarca’s clinical focus centers on endoscopic solutions for obesity and metabolic disease, offering patients effective, incision-free options.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Szvarca is actively involved in clinical research at the intersection of endoscopy and innovation, with a particular interest in advancing endoscopic techniques that improve patient outcomes. He has authored numerous scientific publications in leading journals including Gastroenterology, Gut, and The American Journal of Gastroenterology, and has presented his work at national and international conferences in bariatric and therapeutic endoscopy. He is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). Originally from Curitiba, Brazil, Dr. Szvarca is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Outside of medicine, he enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, and spending time with his family.
