Your first consultation
We start by listening to your health history and goals. A medical provider guides this conversation, and if ESG fits, will explain everything clearly. Together, we'll design your plan around your life—choosing your procedure date, location, and financing options.
Preparation
Leading up to your procedure day
You'll meet with various members of our multidisciplinary care team to get ready for your procedure, including your physician in a group setting. Our care support team will be with you every step of the way to help you get prepared. We'll cover all the details to know before, during, and after your procedure. No question is too small, no concern is left unaddressed.
Procedure
Your ESG appointment
After checking in at your procedure site, you'll change into a gown and get your IV started. The procedure itself takes 45-90 minutes while you're under anesthesia. Recovery is 1-2 hours of rest, and then you're cleared to head home.
Recovery
Your first few days
During the first 72 hours after your procedure, your care team will monitor you closely, answer questions, and help you adjust with confidence. For added comfort, you'll receive complimentary IV hydration at one of our select partner locations to support recovery. Most patients return to work within 3 days, though it's normal to feel a bit tired for about a week—so avoid big trips or demanding plans. You'll begin on a liquid diet to allow your stomach and stitches to heal, gradually transitioning to soft foods as guided by your care team.
