Harvard Professor, Inventor of ESG Stomach Tightening, Everself Co-founder
Dr. Christopher C. Thompson, MD, MSc, is Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and, at Brigham and Women's Hospital, serves as Director of Endoscopy and Co-director of the Center for Weight Management and Wellness. Widely regarded as the father of bariatric endoscopy, he invented Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) Stomach Tightening, performing the world's first-in-human cases with the current technology in 2012; the procedure was approved by the FDA in 2021 and is now performed worldwide. He has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed publications (H-index 88) and is a co-founder of Everself.
